HIGHLIGHTS
About this Holy Kailash Divine Yatra
A dedicated Nepali-national group pilgrimage to the sacred lake and Mount Kailash, returning to Kathmandu. Travel by the authorised Nyalam or Kerung approach, with space for prayer, rest and the approved Parikrama.
This Nepali-passport group Yatra is planned around a Kathmandu-to-Kathmandu road departure, with nine nights on the approved route. The three owner-announced reporting dates are 16 May, 14 July and 12 September 2027, associated with the intended Buddha Jayanti, Guru Purnima and Sohra Shraddha batches. These reporting dates are not guarantees of the exact ritual day at Manasarovar. The same NPR category price applies whichever road approach is authorised.

10-day Kailash Yatra itinerary
Expand each day for the planned journey and overnight stop. The confirmed itinerary takes precedence if operating conditions require a change.
Nyalam road option
Depart Kathmandu toward the Tatopani/Kodari–Zhangmu–Nyalam approach under the confirmed overland plan. Travel as a group with the required documents and follow the arranged immigration and guide handover when the border is authorised for use. The exact crossing time, road transfers and overnight halt depend on access, traffic, permissions and the approved operating schedule. There is no change to the stated category price merely because the approved road approach changes.
Plan ahead: Neither border is promised open. Receive written confirmation of the operating approach before treating this day as a fixed crossing plan.
A planned rest and acclimatization day in Nyalam forms part of the itinerary. Remain with the group arrangements, join the next-stage briefing and use the time for quiet reflection and preparation. Meals and the overnight stay follow the confirmed hotel or guesthouse assignment. The decision to continue depends on the approved operating plan and an appropriate assessment of each traveller, not simply the calendar.
Plan ahead: This necessary rest is not automatically removed to recover a transport delay. An altered schedule may require extra nights.
Continue across the plateau toward Saga and the assigned guesthouse. The local guide coordinates the authorised vehicle movement and any required checks. Meal stops and arrival times follow the actual road conditions rather than a fixed promise of driving hours. Settle into the shared accommodation and receive the next day’s briefing. This transfer day is part of the overall pilgrimage and should remain flexible when weather or authority instructions change.
Plan ahead: The named stop may be substituted by an authorised nearby halt. Distances and timings are approximate, not guaranteed.
Travel by the authorised road plan toward the sacred waters of Lake Manasarovar. As access and conditions permit, pause for darshan, quiet prayer and the agreed coach circuit. The overnight arrangement is a basic shared guesthouse or dormitory rather than a city hotel. Personal rituals, priest services and any use of lake water must follow current local directions; direct bathing or Hawan must never be assumed to be permitted.
Plan ahead: Remote facilities can be limited and shared. Ritual arrangements and room assignments are confirmed with the operations team, not guaranteed by the photographs.
Allow time for morning prayer and reflection beside Lake Manasarovar where the local authorities permit access. Continue to Darchen and settle into the assigned accommodation. The evening briefing confirms the next stage, room sharing, the non-trekking option and any requests for pony or porter arrangements. Permission for a ritual or an optional excursion is separate from the main transport booking and cannot be guaranteed.
Plan ahead: Decide on the non-trekking option before the Parikrama starts. A later return after starting the trek may involve separate rescue, transfer and accommodation costs.
Continue to Yamdwar for the permitted darshan and the start of the guided Parikrama stage to Dirapuk. Those who have chosen the non-trekking arrangement return to the confirmed Darchen accommodation. The trekking group travels with the appointed guide and support arrangements, with basic shared accommodation at Dirapuk and a simpler vegetarian meal service. This is a pilgrimage in a remote setting rather than a personalised luxury-service trip.
Plan ahead: Confirm participation, non-trekking accommodation and any pony/porter request in advance. Availability is not guaranteed; stay within the guide’s agreed arrangements.
The approved itinerary continues from Dirapuk toward Zuthulpuk via the Dolma La sector. This is the most demanding day of the scheduled pilgrimage and proceeds only when individual fitness, the guide’s assessment and local conditions allow. The group uses basic shared facilities for the overnight stay. Guests on the non-trekking option continue with their agreed Darchen arrangement rather than joining this stage.
Plan ahead: Pony hire does not remove every walking section or guarantee that the route is suitable for an individual. Personal assessment and the guide’s safety decisions take priority.
Complete the scheduled final Parikrama stage and meet the vehicles at the arranged collection point. Rejoin the non-trekking group before the return transfer. The departure waits for the group, duffel bags and kitchen equipment to be collected and loaded, so meal and road timings can vary. Continue by road toward Saga or the alternative overnight stop assigned in the authorised return plan.
Plan ahead: The stated overnight stop is a plan, not a guaranteed same-day border or flight connection. Extra costs follow the written disruption terms.
Return toward the Nyalam side and the approved overnight halt.
Complete the authorised return crossing via the confirmed Nyalam approach and continue to Kathmandu. The group journey ends on arrival in the city after the stated nine nights. Reconfirm the drop-off point and any onward arrangements with the operations team. Additional Kathmandu hotel nights before or after this road Yatra are not automatically included.
Plan ahead: Delays can change the arrival time. Arrange any extra city stay separately when needed.
Kerung road option
Depart Kathmandu toward the Rasuwagadhi–Kerung approach under the confirmed overland plan.

Meals and the overnight stay follow the confirmed hotel or guesthouse assignment. NOTES & IMPORTANT INFORMATION
What should I pack?
Use the final route-specific packing checklist: warm layers and waterproof outerwear, head covering, gloves, warm socks, suitable walking footwear, a small daypack, walking poles where required, a torch, thermos, sun protection and basic toiletries. Carry your own prescribed regular medicines and discuss their use with your clinician. Confirm exact aviation baggage limits; do not rely on a generic allowance.
Receive the final baggage and packing instructions with your written travel briefing.
Accommodation, meals & Yatra arrangements
Your stays
City hotels and remote guesthouses are different experiences. The final quote confirms sharing in each sector; remote stops may have shared facilities rather than private bathrooms or heating.
Your meals
Pure vegetarian food follows the agreed daily meal schedule. Request strict Jain requirements in advance. Transit days may have changing meal times, and Parikrama menus are simpler.
Darshan & rituals
Scheduled darshan is subject to local access. Private priests, Hawan, special puja and optional excursions need separate confirmation and any necessary permission.
Group support
The briefing explains your meeting points, group coordination, transport handovers and support arrangements. This is a shared pilgrimage, not unlimited individual service.
What documents do I need for Kailash Yatra?
Prepare early. Your passport and entry route—not just your country of residence—determine the process.
Passport copies
Clear colour copy of the identity page, relevant information pages and two blank visa pages. Check name spelling and validity against the application checklist.
Visa photograph
Recent colour passport photograph taken within the last six months, white or near-white background, face visible. Typical China paper-photo size: 33 mm wide × 48 mm high; use the exact current specification confirmed for your application.
Traveller information form
Personal and contact details matching the passport; employment, education, family and travel history only where the current official application requires them.
Residence and previous visas
Proof of lawful stay/residence when applying outside the country of citizenship, plus previous China visa/passport details where requested.
Emergency and medical planning
A non-travelling emergency contact, agreed dietary requirements, insurance details and any fitness documentation requested for the trip. Discuss medical information privately.
Secure submission
Do not send passport scans, bank details or medical records through the public enquiry form. Our team gives the verified private submission channel and any original-passport handling instructions after enquiry.
Nepal entry and Tibet travel are different arrangements.
Indian citizens do not need a Nepal tourist visa, but the Tibet journey still requires the relevant China entry and Tibet travel approvals. Eligible foreign travellers, including US passport holders, may use Nepal’s visa-on-arrival process; confirm your passport and entry point before travel. Do not assume Tibet offers the same facility.
US passport holders arranging China visa processing in Kathmandu: discuss arrival at least five days before your fixed reporting date as Shivalaya’s initial planning allowance. Appointment availability, holidays and processing requirements may require longer. Extra Kathmandu nights and sightseeing are available by separate quotation.
Lucknow routes for foreign passport holders: confirm the correct India visa, entry/re-entry entitlement and authorised land checkpoint before payment. An OCI card or residence status must be checked against the actual route.
Before you submit your documents
The public enquiry is for discussing a journey. It is not an online visa application, a document-upload portal or an approval from an immigration authority.
How do I book my Kailash Yatra?
No instant checkout. Speak with a real expert, understand the complete quote and receive written confirmation.
Speak with your Kailash expert
Choose the route, reporting city, approximate group size and proposed dates. Provide passport nationality and residence separately; avoid sending sensitive documents with the first public enquiry.
Review a written quotation
Receive the duration, included flight and road sectors, room-sharing basis, meal schedule, complete currency breakdown and excluded costs. Confirm that the selected package ends in the city you need.
Agree the booking instalment
Ask about starting with INR 5,000 per person. Obtain written confirmation of acceptance, remaining instalments, balance deadline, any charges and cancellation/refund terms. It is not the full price or an advertised recurring monthly repayment.
Receive a receipt and booking reference
After an accepted payment, use the booking reference for correspondence. A receipt records payment; permits, flights and group operation still have their own confirmation steps.
Complete the document check
Use the team’s verified private submission channel for passport copies, photographs and the required form. Confirm original-passport handling, deadlines and nationality-specific visa appointments before sending originals.
Confirm the travel arrangements
Check issued approvals, route access, flight sectors, joining instructions, baggage limits, hotel/sharing plan and the emergency contact process. Read the final day-wise itinerary and limitations before departure.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
The INR 5,000 starting payment is an initial instalment enquiry, not the total Yatra price or a guaranteed monthly EMI. Deposit acceptance, eligibility, payment frequency, interest/fees if any, refund rules and final balance date must be agreed in writing. A payment does not itself guarantee permits, seats or departure.
Shivalaya assists with the agreed paperwork, but consulates, immigration and permit authorities decide approval. Do not travel assuming a Tibet visa on arrival or that an existing individual Chinese visa automatically covers this entry route.
Flight operations, border access, road condition and permit decisions can alter timings, overnight stops or the route. Buffer time is essential. The confirmed contract sets out extra-night costs and any cancellation/refund arrangements.
This is a demanding high-altitude pilgrimage with limited facilities. Obtain individual medical advice before committing. Symptoms and professional assessment govern continuation; no single oxygen reading proves fitness. Scheduled acclimatization is not removed merely to recover a delay.
Expect basic shared facilities at remote stops, a simpler vegetarian menu during the Parikrama, and variable meal times on transfer days. Pony/porter allocation is subject to local availability; hiring one does not remove the need to walk.
Arrange insurance appropriate to the exact itinerary, activities and altitude. Confirm rescue/evacuation cover and exclusions directly with the insurer. Emergency arrangements and associated costs must be discussed before departure.
A written schedule covering cancellation, supplier charges, refunds, early return and operator changes must be accepted before payment. This overview does not waive any rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Questions about this Kailash Yatra
NPR 1,85,000 per person for nepali passport holders. Confirm the complete service scope and payment schedule with the team.
This 9 nights / 10 days itinerary starts in Kathmandu and finishes in Kathmandu. Arrange transport to the joining city separately unless your written quotation includes it. Extra document-processing or weather-delay nights are not part of the advertised duration.
Choose your route and date with our team. After the passport/document review and written quotation, you receive the accepted payment schedule, booking reference and final operational briefing. This PDF preview is not a visa or departure confirmation.
Ask about an INR 5,000 starting instalment for your Kailash Yatra 2027 booking. This is not the full tour price or a guaranteed recurring monthly EMI. The accepted payment schedule, balance deadline, any finance charges and refund conditions are confirmed before a payment is taken.
Do not plan on it. Nepal entry arrangements and China/Tibet visa and travel-permit arrangements are different. Obtain the required approvals in advance through the confirmed process; a residence country, NRI status or existing China visa alone does not establish eligibility.
Discuss a non-trekking stay in Darchen before the group sets out. The confirmed package must state the accommodation, meal and support arrangements. Returning after starting the trek is a different situation and may incur transport, rescue or additional stay costs.
A reporting date is not the lake-stay date. Match the final itinerary to the intended religious observance with the team. Border, weather or permit changes can move the planned lake visit; no festival-day attendance is guaranteed.
An expert discusses the route, passport nationality, group size and reporting date with you. You then review a written quotation, the two-currency breakdown where applicable, inclusions, exclusions and payment terms before any reservation is accepted. An enquiry is not a confirmed booking.
First ask the assigned Shivalaya contact for the verified private submission method and the correct application checklist. Do not enter passport numbers, upload scans or disclose medical records in the public enquiry form. Original passports should be handed over or couriered only under specific written instructions.
Pure vegetarian meals are part of the confirmed ground-Yatra plan. Request strict Jain requirements before the booking is finalised. Expect simpler hot meals and packed lunches during the Parikrama, with meal times changing on border or flight-transfer days. The aerial package uses its separately confirmed meal plan.
No private-room promise applies throughout the journey. City hotel sharing is confirmed in the quote, while Manasarovar and Parikrama stops may use very basic multi-bed guesthouses or dormitories. Attached bathrooms, heating and hot showers must not be assumed at remote stops.
Your booking reference, traveller names, route and dates, start/end cities, full price and currency components, sharing and meal basis, included visa/permit-processing scope, payment receipt and due dates, cancellation terms, meeting instructions, baggage allowance and emergency contact arrangements.
Ask for a separate tailored quotation. Muktinath, extra Kathmandu sightseeing, international flights and additional nights are not automatically included in these six finalised packages. Any extension must be itemised rather than inferred from an older webpage title.
