But winter is the best time to experience the stunning view of white mountains only if you travel with winter gear.

Itinerary

We'll arrive in Kathmandu and conduct some sightseeing, as well as some shopping if you need anything for the trip.

We will be taking a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla; The Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary Airport which will be an exciting and Specialtiesadventurous flight with a marvelous view of landscapes and snow-capped mountains. So we will be starting our Everest Base camp trek from Lukla and after reaching Lukla airport we will be walking to todays’ destination which is Ghat after walking for 3 hours.

After having early morning breakfast we will start our trek to Namche Bazaar from Lukla via Toktok, Benkar, Monjo, and Jorsalle. After crossing many suspension bridges we will get to see the beautiful view of Mt. Thamserku and we should enter our Sagarmatha National Park permit. After walking for 3 hours we will reach Jorsalle where we will have our lunch and then afterward climb a steep hill and reach Namche Bazaar walking for 2 and a half hours which is a total walk of 6 hours.

So it is the rest day today to acclimatize our body and to avoid AMS through the trail. At Namche we can go sightseeing while we stay there, we can go around and hang out as there are restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, and groceries.

We will start our trek early in the morning after having breakfast in Namche. Till we reach Kyanjuma we will be continuing to walk straight and then descend the Dudh Koshi River and cross the suspension bridge. Then we will continue our steep ascent and reach Tengboche village which lies in the Khumbu region where the largest gompa of the Khumbu region lies, Tengboche monastery which is the most important monastery in the village. So after walking for 5 to 6 hours we will finally reach Tengboche village.

After having early morning breakfast we will start our trek from Tengboche following the trail through Rhododendrons, birch, and blue pine forest, and reach Pangboche after walking the steep trail. We will continue walking in the isolated pastures and fields to Orsho and following the Imja Khola and finally reach Dingboche after walking for 5 to 6 hours and now you will also get to see the view of Ama Dablam, Island Peak, Lhotse, Tawache, Tsolache, Lobuche and other peaks.

While ascending to a higher altitude, sometimes your body can’t cope with an environment, in that case, it would be better if you separate a day for a rest or acclimatization so that your body gets re-energized. While staying in Dingboche you can also visit Nangar Tshang (5616m) which offers an amazing view of Mt. Makalu (8485m), the fifth highest mountain in the world.

We will be starting our trek after having early morning breakfast. We will be passing through small Chhorten and descend towards the terrace of Khumbu Khola valley and Thukla and the trail starts ascending with a short glimpse of the majestic peak of Pumori, Nuptse, Lobuche, Cholatse, Tawache, Amadablam, and other small peaks. Then from the ascending path from Thukla leads you to the array of cairn memorials and heaps of stones with prayer flags as a remembrance for those mountaineers who lost their lives during the time of summiting Mt. Everest. So after walking for approximately 5 to 6 hours we will reach Lobuche.

So today is the day we finally trek to the Everest Base Camp. We will start our trek early in the morning from Lobuche following the bank of the Khumbu glacier and steep climb up till Changri glacier and then a short descent to Gorakshep. Gorakshep is our first destination for today which takes 2 and a half hours to reach from Labuche. Then we will be dropping off our bags and luggage there and going for an EBC hike for the excursion. Most travelers like going to Kala Patthar to catch a beautiful view of sunset on Mt. Everest.

Early in the morning, we will start our hike to Kala Patthar which takes a maximum of 2 hours to reach from Gorakshep. From the viewpoint of Kala Patthar, we will get to see the stunning 360° view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Khumbutse, Pumori, Lingtren, Amadablam, Thamserku, Lobuche peak, and other peaks. After that, we will be returning to our tea house at Gorakshep and starting our trek to Pheriche via Lobuche and Thukla.

After having early morning breakfast we will be descending towards Namche via Pangboche passing many Buddhist monuments with an excellent view of mountains all around. Through a steep descent through the forest to Phungi Tenga we will cross the bridge over Dudh Koshi River and start walking the ascending trail through the forest and arrive at Kyangjuma and finally reach Namche after walking for 7 to 8 hours.

We will leave Namche after having breakfast. It’s the last day of our trek so we will be heading back to Lukla cherishing every moment of the trek. We will be trekking down towards the Suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi and pass through beautiful villages and eventually reach Lukla after walking for 6 to 7 hours.

So it’s the last day of our trip, we will be taking a flight from Lukla to Manthali and after that, we will drive back from Manthali to Kathmandu which takes 4 hours.

After having breakfast we will transfer you to International Airport for final departure

FAQs

For those who never had the experience of trekking, it might be hard for them to do a Base Camp trek but if you are physically fit and have got good experience in trekking then it is moderate to them.

The trek can be completed within 13 to 14 days but if you are willing to spend more days on mountains then the trip can be extended or customized according to your will.

The tickets for a flight to Lukla from Kathmandu and back to Kathmandu from Lukla to Kathmandu can be booked by us at the same price if you book through us or directly. If we arrange your flight it will be easy to rearrange your flight if the flight gets canceled.

The types of accommodations that are available during the EBC trek are lodges and tea houses. EBC is very famous for its luxury lodges, so you will get to stay in nice and cozy lodges.

Yes, wifi and electricity are available in Everest Base Camp but you will have to pay extra if you want to use wifi or charge your gadgets.

For the Everest Base Camp trek, you will be needing a Sagarmatha National Park entrance fee that costs NPR 3000 (USD 30) per person and Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality entrance ticket price NPR 2000 (USD 20).

Drinking water is available but it would be better if you use a water purifier tablet or boiled filter water. In higher regions, bottled water can be costly, and also using plastic bottles can be a threat to the environment.

The more you ascend towards the higher region, the more everything starts getting costly for how things are brought with effort and costly transportation.

To book a trek, you can kindly either contact us directly or email us at info@shivalayaholidays.com

You may choose according to your convenience, you may either bank transfer, credit card, western union, or other options.

There are no banks or atm or money exchange to the higher points of the trek. If you want to carry extra cash for extra expenses then you can either withdraw or change from Kathmandu or Lukla.

If the symptoms start appearing then your guide will provide you first- aid treatment but if it’s an emergency then contact your travel agency and insurance company, they will arrange a helicopter for you.

A great trekking company. The website tells one exactly what is on offer and whatever was offered was fulfilled. The accomodation was as good as is available in the Himalayas which is not saying a lot; all food and accomodation was included in the price. I had an excellent guide who was fully commited to the trip and often offered side trips which others might not have bothered with. I made Base Camp and we climbed Kala Pattar at 5500m and had brilliant views of Everest and the sorrounding mountains as the sun rose. A view never to be forgotten and all in all a once in a lifetime trip.
